ChocoBananaOatmeal Cookies

Hey Moms and Dads of Preschoolers like me, here is my latest discovery (well, atleast new to me lol!) that your picky eater won't resist to dig in on snack time.

3 INGREDIENT COOKIE
-ripe bananas (I used 2)
-1 cup quick or rolled oats (I prefer quick oats)
-half a cup of unsweetened chocolate chips (may use nuts and blueberries)

Step1: In a bowl, mash the ripe bananas. Consistency must be looking like a baby food :). The sweetness of the cookie will actually base on how ripe the bananas are.
Step2: In the same bowl, add the oats. Mix together and leave for like a minute or two. This is to give time for the oats to be fully absorbed by the banana for flavor.
Step3: Add chocolate chip or optional ingredients and mix evenly.

Step4: Preheat oven for 350'F
Step5: While preheating the oven, grab the tray with non-stick sprayed over
Step6: form the cookies according to you desired serving size. Since it is flour-less, the size of the cookie will still be the same as how you pop them in the oven
Step7: Once preheating is done, put these loveys in the oven for 12-15 minutes
Step8: Let cool completely and serve

Time For An Update!

Hello everybody! I hope 2020 is treating you well.

As for me, Yes! I am so grateful for another fruitful year and time to spend with my family, friends and loved ones. There may be rough times but it's alright. What matters is I/we are given another chance to make everything perfect and live HAPPY! :)

So where do I begin my update? hmm.. Ok, September of 2019..

SEPTEMBER 2019

My daughter, Saoirse turned two years old. Yup! #terribletwo. And im telling you, this one is super different from my first born when she was at her age. Although Shiloh was as handful as Saoirse, with Shiloh, she loves to have her "me time". And this means her screen time. You can just leave her in her high chair and she will have a great time with Barney for the rest of her screen time. But with Saoirse, she is very outgoing. She would always loves to ruuuuuuuuun, jump, dance and sing and also screen time with Cocomelon and Mother Goose Club only when she wakes up from nap but other than that, she wouldn't mind if her sister carries the ipad all the time. She loves to play with the toys and that is why our playroom is always a mess. But anyhow, it is what it is and I am loving the fact that eventhough I was so busy studying during these months, she was able to learn her ABCs, 123s, Colors and Shapes (in progress) :)..

As for her birthday celebration, we just had a family dinner here at home w/ my siblings-in-law and as a tradition, I made her a lemonade themed DIY photosession :)

OCTOBER 2019

Trick Or Treat!
Saoirse as Betty Rubble of the Flinstones

Shiloh as Princess Poppy of Trolls

Off course this has to be DIY! lol.. Unfortunately I was only able to make a tutorial video for Betty Rubble's kid's costume.

And I did a short vlog of Shiloh's Halloween Party at the preschool

NOVEMBER 2019

We were in Las Vegas for 10days because I had to attend a very important event and good thing my husband was granted a vacation that long and I dont have to be there alone lol!. We stayed at Club De Soleil where my childhood friend works (off course I have to use my connections hahaha!!) and my hubby and kids were able to go into places while I was at the event.

DECEMBER 2019

Disneyland Time again!

This is our first time to visit Disneyland in December because I wanted to see the Christmas Decorations and to feel the Christmas Spirit and we enjoyed our visit and this time, we got a one day park hopper ticket so we were able to visit the California Adventure for the first time. And not only that, the highlight of our visit was when my sister and her kids from Virginia met up and surprised me! After being unable to see each other for 14years :( .. I know they are in LA that time for a vacation too and we set a meeting already on that weekend and I didn't know that they had plans to go to CA Adventure too :) so that was the bestest day ever!!.. BTW, here's my Downtown Disney and Disneyland/CA Adventure vlog.

Newman Fall Festival 2019

Its the time of the year again when people whether from Newman or not gather at the Pioneer Park, Newman Ca to spend time, have fun, feast on food and enjoy the rides at the Newman Fall Festival. After all the shootings happening, it's understandable that people has the fear to go to the festival but this didn't stop the success of the event and it is still something to look forward to each year. It's my 3rd time to witness the festival and I can say that it keeps getting bigger and better. Food booths are spectacular! (loved the shrimp taco!). The rides gives so much excitement to everybody esp for the little ones with reasonable priced tickets and lastly the shows and music keeps the Fall Festival alive. Shoutout to the organizers who did very well, especially our brothers and sisters who served to keep the peace and order and the safety of everybody in this successful event. Here's a snippet of our Newman Fall Festival experience happened on Aug. 30, 31 and Sept 1, 2019 and was taken on the first day.
Till next year! Music Credits: Happy Life by Fredji SC: https://soundcloud.com/fredjimusic FB: https://www.facebook.com/fredjimusic/ Promoted by MrSnooze https://youtu.be/rhV_DIoebmU

Intex Swim Center Family Pool and Intex Rectangular Pool Cover

Review About the Pool:

It's an easy set up as you may think but for me it isn't😊 so I took my time to set this up. Im glad I didn't get a defective one coz' I fear those reviews in Amazon getting a missing valve cover, dirty and used pool and pool with holes that can't be fix by the repair patch and a lot more!

Yup, this pool comes with one (yep only one) adhesive patch for repair and drowning hazards.

I never had problems inflating it however, the valve covers are hard to put back on. I wish they are screw type like an airbed but it is not. You gotta have to give it a hard push but be extra careful not to rip or poke the pool. It is pretty sturdy and as of this writing, it's been sitting there in our backyard for 4hours without any signs of being deflated or something. And lastly this pool has a drain at the bottom located in the side for water's quick release if you feel like refilling it with fresh water.

On the other hand..

My Review About the Pool Cover.

Ahh!! This one is so tricky. But first, I don't like it bec it has a super weird smell that I almost throw up. I can't describe it. Oh well, maybe a strong plastic-ky smell argh!!.. Hopefully it will get away once it gets expose in the air and into the sun.

For the set up, you have to be patient with it. As you can see, I did a lot of run arounds in the pool to evenly distribute the cover to the pool. Intex was so smart to make this look so simple like putting on a fitted sheet in the mattress. This comes with a string long enough to slip through the built in holes and run the string around the pool. And once the two ends meet, then that's when I made a knot and made sure to give it a nice pull to secure the cover. And since both products are made of plastic, the sun would make the cover sets in into the pool.

Overall, both are recommend. As long as my girls are happy and I guess this is one of the best way to enjoy summer while at home.

So til' my next review.

Day Two: April 26, 2019

At Universal Studios Hollywood!!.. It's Me and Hubby's 3rd time while it's 1st time for our girls, Nida and Laiza.. We woke up at around 6:30AM and had our complimentary breakfast then hangout at the pool and patio for a while before getting ready for USH.. We left the hotel around 7:30AM and got to USH at around 8AM. We got our front parking for a whooping $50 (because I know our legs will be sore later on and couldn't afford a few steps heading to the general admission parking in the far end of the park and its $20 difference).

Upon arriving to USH, we skipped taking pictures at the famous Universal Studios globe (lol!) as people gathered over there and so we went to the rides instead. The first ride that opens at 830AM (according to their app) is the Harry Potter's, Escape from the Gringotts. Its a simple roller coaster ride but for me who is not really a fan, this could kill me!! lol! but luckily I survived! hahaha. so Me, Nida and Laiza took the ride first while hubby passed first and watched the girls instead..Then we strolled around the Harry Potter Village. A lot of highschool memories has flashback when most of my classmates were into it while I only read till the 3rd book for the purpose of a book review project! lol..FYI: Im not a bookworm.  I enjoyed seeing stuff from the movies, like the Hogwart Express, Hedwig in the cage, the Harry Potter Merchandize where Laiza bought her Gryffindor Robe and neck tie and Nida got her husband a Professor Snape's Walking Sticks.

Next ride is the Transformers. It is my hubby's favorite ride LOL!.. its good to get there really early because where is no long wait in the line. Next is the Mummy Returns. Only Nida and Laiza got to get into the ride because the girls were acting up already then after that, we had lunch at Panda Express inside USH. We took the Kung Fu Panda (Shiloh's first ever ride/3d) and Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey ride that made me feel like flying with Harry while playing Quidditch and I can say that this is my new favorite :) Then for the last ride, we had the 45minute Studio Tour and watched Waterworld Special Effects show.. Right after we get to experience all the rides, the characters started showing up for picture taking and my Shiloh had lots of fun though not seeing the Disney Princesses this time, but she saw Princess Poppy, SpongeBob and Patrick Starr, Minion, Marilyn Monroe, ScoobyDoo, Shrek and Princess Fiona, KungFu Panda, Frankenstein and a lot more.

And to cap off our trip today, we had a mini shopping and food trip at the city walk and we didnt expect the chilly weather around 6PM though. We just hangout at the city walk and infront of Universal Studios before we head back to the hotel.

It was a fun-filled day today and hopefully we will have more travels to look forward too.

Roadtrip again tomorrow as we head back to Newman.

I hope you like the video.

Day One: Residence Inn by Marriott Hotel in Burbank

Hello everyone! Here we go again hitting the road for another exciting trip with my family and now with our friend, Nida and her daughter Laiza. Unfortunately Nida's hubby Bernhard was unable to make it in this trip but hopefully, next time! :)

We left Newman Ca at around 10AM because Bernhard and my hubby, Vince went to Enterprise to get our rental van and my hubby lost the car rental keys for a few minutes at home that caused the delay..HAHA but anyhow, to our surprise, we reached our destination at 3PM without traffic swear! So upon reaching the hotel, we rested for a few minutes then we went to Eagle Rock (i guess thats the name of the road) shopping center in Glendale where we had our late lunch/early dinner at Jollibee as per Laiza's request :) then went back to the hotel to get some good sleep and recharge for Universal Studios tomorrow. :) and as of this writing, its 12:44AM now and I should get going too.. LOL!.. Hubby and the girls are already in the dreamland and so as Nida and Laiza in the room next door.

BTW, here's a vlog of today's trip.

Hope you like it.

I See You!

Hi guys, hope all is well. I would like to share with you my favorite essential that happened to be my latest collection now. LOL! -- it's my eyeglasses from Firmoo.

A little backstory how I started wearing eyeglasses. Back when I was in Shiloh's age, I would always wear my Mom's eyeglasses for fun. Most of the female member of my family on my mother's side are wearing glasses. From my Grandma, my Mom, my Aunties, my sister, my niece, Meghan, then me. And now I can also see my cousins from my Dad's side wearing eyeglasses too. I just hope Shiloh and Saoirse wouldn't need to wear one when they gets a little bit older. My mom said I also loved to stay close to tv while watching and at a young age, I was already exposed to computers. Until such time, I had a hard time seeing our lectures in the blackboards in school and I have to stay at the back seat (kinda) since we are seated in alphabetical arrangement with our lastname. Mine was Segarra~ lol  Until when I get to 5th grade, that was when I officially had to wear my eyeglasses.

At first I thought it was cool šŸ˜Ž. But I got tired of it. Until I started wearing contact lenses in college but that has a lot of pre, intra, and post care to keep in mind and I always end up going back to wearing glasses. I also thought about having the Lasix Surgery but here in the US, it is not covered by my insurance and it is not really advisable by the Optometrist.

Good thing I came across this firmoo pop-up ads in my Instagram and Facebook. For sure I was skeptical about it at first. I thought it was a scam, a monthly subscription thing etc. etc.. But I was wrong till I got my 1st, 2nd and 3rd pair. I even got one for $1 in exchange for an honest review. I will put in the link below how you can participate in their review program. And the coolest part, they ship outside US. I chatted with one of their representative and confirmed, they ship out to the Philippines for $13 (US is only $5.99)

So far, these glasses met my expectations. You'll get a sturdy, stylish glasses without breaking your bank. The cheapest you can get is $19.99 with BOGO, 50% off and freeshipping discount code. Make sure you know your prescription by heart or if you have a copy, you can upload it to your firmoo account as you sign up with with them and its so easy to order, select pretty designs and lenses fit for you and will be at your door for almost 2weeks depends on the availability of the lense you selected.

So there you go. I made a collage of the glasses I ordered and my selfies wearing them :)

If you want to get the ones I already have, let me know which glasses it is in the comment box and I will send you the link for easy ordering.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Get your 1st pair of glasses for only $1 and give Firmoo a review instead, check out the link in my bio for this program. (must have an Instagram Account)

Tell Me Where It Hurts by MYMP (cover)

I super love this song but since my strumming skill is only limited to the basic chords šŸ˜‹, I asked my friend and former co-worker, Jops Canlas and his nephew Abrahm to do an instrumental for me where I can PIP my video while singing. And it turned out to be like this!! Lol I miss those days where I can jam with live bands during our happy hour after shift or during day offs. Btw, I hope you like this video and I'll surely ask for more collabs (naks! Collab!!!) with them.. Thanks guys and sensya na gilu da kayu though we are half-way around the world hahahaha!!! _______________________________________ šŸŽ¼Credits to the owner Original music not ours. 1st Family Trip of the Year

Every year, as a family we make it a point to go on a travel atleast once or twice a year depending on my husband's free time at work and off course --- the budget! Lol. We chose March as it is my Hubby's birth month and our 5th wedding anniversary month. This time, we picked Huntington Beach for our destination and a quick stop in SanDiego to see my loved ones before they head to the Philippines for the holyweek.

It's our 2nd time to be in Huntington. The first time we went there was when I got to visit my grandma then she toured us at the Huntington Pier. We find the place so clean, not so crowded, nice parking space and despite of the cold water, the warm weather is so perfect to hangout. I guess im just really looking forward to warm weather since it has been chilly here in Newman for the longest time. lol!.. We stayed at the Courtyard by Marriott Hotel which is I believe 5miles away form the beach. Traffic is not so bad as going to the main city.

Before heading towards Huntington, we made a lunch stopover and a little shopping at the Citadel Outlet and left when it was ready for us to check-in.

Mar 14, 2019 my hubby's birthday and our 2nd day in Socal. We went to grab some lunch and spent the rest of the morning and afternoon at the beach. Kids had fuuuuuuun and at night time, we got to meet my youngest brother-in-law at the Orange Outlet who lives in the Orange County. We always go to that outlet whenever we are in SoCal and again did a little shopping and more of window shopping hahaha!!.. Kids went to sleep right away after shower after a long tiring and fun day at the beach :)

Mar 15, 2019- last day in Huntington and left the hotel at 9AM and headed to SanDiego Ca where my Mom's mom and sisters lived. First we had a lunch stopover at Jollibee in Plaza Blvd National City then dropped off the kids to my Aunt's house because its time for our couple's massage FINALLY!!! at the Happy Head Massage and Reflexology in Chula Vista. It was the best 1hour of my life HAHAHA!!!.. Then after the massage, we went back to pick up the kids and my Mom and Dad (actually my Aunt and Uncle) accompanied us to check in at the Viejas Casino and Resort for a 3days and 2nights stay. As you can see in my vlog, that's where my phone's memory went full! lol!... I'll do better next time haha..

Mar 16, 2019- we explored the Viejas Casino Outlet (yes, we love exploring outlet shop!) then met with my relatives again to dine at Fung Fung Yuen in Miramar until we head back to the hotel and get some rest and pack up for our trip back home the next day.

Mar 17, 2019- headed back home here in Newman. Hubby is complaining a sore in his legs and butt.. oohh!! poor daddy!!.. that's what you get when you don't allow me to long drive hehe..

So there you have it, our little get away and we're still looking forward for more. As a matter of fact, we already booked for April for Universal Studio with my friend and her daughter so I'll sure do share our trip again. Btw, I hope you enjoy this video and God bless everyone!

Instant Pot: Bistek

Preparing home-cooked meal for our family is the highlight of my everyday life. I make sure we have something we love and enjoy in the table during mealtime and one of these is the Pork Bistek.

So I wanted to share with you guys how I cooked it using the very convenient and reliable Instant Pot. At first, I find it very intimidating to use (just because I am so lazy to read the instructions! ✌) but after watching a bunch of Youtube tutorials, this has become my most favorite thing in my kitchen (followed by my airfryer😘)

I didn't include my measurements in the video because I want to leave it all up to you guys according on how you would want it to taste like.

If you have more Instant Pot recipes, please feel free to comment it below and I would love to try them.

Xoxo

Crazy For You by Madonna cover

At  times that being a stay-at-home parent, wife and a freelancer  becomes so stressful, during my "me time" (when kids are napping! lol) to release my stress, I would always grab my guitar and strum. I started singing when I was 4 years old and I always join the glee club in school from elementary to college and the church choir. Then I became interested in playing the guitar in my highschool days with my cousin as my instructor. BTW, here's my cover of Crazy For You by Madonna.

DIY Decorative Storage Boxes

And Im back with another DIY that I would like to share to everybody. After organizing stuff from my kids' room and our laundry room, I was thinking about organizing our bathroom sink cabinet in our master's bedroom too but unfortunately I ran out of DollarTree storage bins and it may take some time before I can make a trip there again. Then I saw empty adult diaper boxes in our garage and thought about of making something out of nothing. Until I had an idea to turn these into decorative storage boxes.

I just had few things that I used in this project.

1. Contact paper. (I chose the 18" x 9ft size)
2. Masking tape
3. Scissors and box cutter
4. Old white blanket
5. Tacky glue

Starting of by chopping off the top panels of the box, then putting the masking tape to smoothen the part of the box that was cut, next is to cover the entire outer part of the box with the contact paper. Then finally,  measuring the height and width of the box (x2) and cut the blanket according to the measurement  and glue the side and bottom opening and flap fabric showing the clean/right side. (or just leave it without the fabric lol!)

I have 6boxes and so far I made 3 so once I finished them, I'll definitely start organizing our bathroom sink cabinet. So there you have it. I hope you find this DIY interesting and fun. 'til next time.

Laundry Room Organization

So much stuff to do yet so little time to make it happen. Until yesterday, I was able to organize our laundry room. We are so fortunate to have a bigger space to do our laundry. That is why it also turned out to be a storage for our stuff that were still in the box when we moved. Until such time it became a chaos and it was such an eyesore looking at our laundry room. Here's the before and after photo. I know! I super hate the mess too!!!

And ideas kept popping outta my mind and I know its time for some organizing to do.

So I made a trip to my happy place, the Dollartree after Saoirse's 1yo Wellbaby visit and grabbed these orange bins/basket to put whatever stuff in the laundry room. I put all the sprayers in one bin, next are the dusters, then the bin for my fabric softeners and deodorizers, bin for the bleach and cleaners and I made a spot for the detergent soap. I also took away those unopened boxes which I didn't mind checking whats in it and I believe those are no longer needed stuff (which I think it's mostly clothes) and these will just go to Goodwill. If you live overseas, you gotta find a spot for your luggage. That spot right there covered with white blanket was all luggage stacked together and I emptied the hamper by just washing everything whats in there. I also organized the hangers put on the side for the clothes we want to air dry. On the other side of the room were large storage bins for extra bed sheets, blankets and pillowcases. I just stacked them up nicely to look good.

I started organizing the laundry room late in the afternoon and finished at 2AM. I can't go to sleep without finishing what it has to be done. I ended up with a balikbayan box of clothes to send out to Goodwill and a huge box of trash that will go to recycle bin.

Ah! vacuumed floor, the smell of detergent and fabric softeners, more space to move around and organized large bins was such a relief! Makes me feel like sleeping in the laundry room! Joke! So tell me, what do you think about my laundry organization? Talk to you in the comment box.

ChocoBananaOatmeal Cookies

Hey Moms and Dads of Preschoolers like me, here is my latest discovery (well, atleast new to me lol!) that your picky eater won't resist...
